Edith Lenora Wesenberg Hardy passed away peacefully with her children by her side on February 7, 2020 in Columbus, Texas, at the age of 98.

She was born on December 18, 1921, in America, Pulaski County, Illinois, the youngest of 11 children born to Charles Henry and Jennie Lin Blanton Wesenberg. Edith enjoyed her youth on a farm with the activities of older siblings and her pet pony. Following high school she attended beauty school and always had a sense of style and grace.

On January 22, 1945, she married Paul Wayne Hardy. They made their home in Columbus, Texas in 1951 establishing Columbus Chiropractic Clinic where together they lovingly raised their three children.
The years saw her enjoying family, friends, and her Lutheran faith. Woven into the fabric of life was golfing, fishing, love of the piano, crocheting, dominoes, a special place in her heart for her pets, family trips to Illinois, and far away adventures. She was a member of the Mary & Martha Circle, and joined Kathy's Beauty Shop as an esthetician after her children were adults. Most importantly, her greatest love was for her family. Throughout the years many traditions prevailed with family birthday and holiday celebrations. Edith was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Edith is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Sandra Biggins and son-in-law Dennis Biggins, daughter-in-law Kim Hardy, great grandson Paul Hardy, and her brothers and sisters.

Edith is survived by her son Gary L. Hardy of Columbus, TX, daughter Paula Brady (Jim) of Austin, TX, grandsons Cole Hardy, Zachary Hardy, Jacob Hardy, Tyson Hardy, Jeremy Taylor, Ted Taylor, granddaughter Audrey Taylor, step grandsons Cullen Brady, Dillon Brady, Justin Brady, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family member Kathleen Labay of Columbus, TX.

The family extends their deep appreciation to her angel caregiver, Cynthia Rios.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, TX with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, TX from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at church on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus, TX.

Serving as pallbearers are Gary Hardy, Cole Hardy, Zachary Hardy, Dillon Brady, Gary Purcell, and Paul Cernosek. Honorary pallbearers are Tyson Hardy, Jacob Hardy, Jim Brady, Cullen Brady, Justin Brady, and Jeremy Taylor.
