Susie "Loretta" Kirkendall, age 88, of Hamden, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born September 18, 1930 in Floyd County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alonzo and Daisy Allen Patton. Loretta was a 1949 graduate of Hamden High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Loretta was a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Kirkendall; sons, Dennis Kirkendall of Delaware, Ohio and Randy Kirkendall of Hamden; daughter, Tracey Sage of Galena; sister, Lorene Patton of Hamden; along with 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Romona Cochran; daughter-in-law, Linda Kirkendall; and her brothers, Hurmel Patton, Hearld Patton and Delmar Patton, as well as an infant brother. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Cemetery in McArthur. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions in Loretta's memory be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203.
