Mr. James Lemuel Nevil, Jr. age 88, died on Friday December 4, 2015 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
The Candler County native attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the UGA College of Pharmacy. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Nevil was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was a resident of Bulloch County for 56 years. Mr. Nevil founded Medical Center Pharmacy in 1960. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder through the years. He was a former longtime member of the Rotary Club of Statesboro, a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the National Association of Community Pharmacist, the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association and the Bulloch County Historical Society.
Mr. Nevil was preceded in death by his parents Dr. J. Lem Nevil, Sr. and Gerstle DeLoach Nevil.
Surviving are his wife Anne Preston Nevil (the daughter of the Late Congressman Prince H. Preston, Jr. and Myrtice Robinson Preston); a son and daughter-in-law Jamie and Jill Mock Nevil; a daughter Dana Anne Nevil; four grandchildren Rachel Nevil, James Nevil, Samuel Nevil and Preston Nevil Rincon all of Register, GA.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Lewis officiating.
