Vance Brooks, 80, passed away at Transitions Hospice surrounded by his loving family. A native of Hoke Co. he was the son of the late Zebuel and Lena McKay Brooks. Vance was a heavy equipment mechanic for many years. He also proudly served his country in the U. S. Army National Guard. There will be a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM Wed. Feb. 12 at Midway Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday Feb. 11 at Midway Baptist Church and at other times at 6753 Walnut Cove Dr. Raleigh.
Along with is parents Vance was preceded in death by his first wife; Annie Doris Brooks; brother, Archie Brooks and brothers-in-law Don Evans and Curt Stewart.
Survivors include; wife Mary Ann Brooks; daughter, Michelle Brooks; son, Vince Brooks and wife Jenni; step-daughter Melissa Barbosa and husband Javier; step-sons, Dan Baker and wife Kathy, Nick Baker and Nathan Baker; sisters, Martha Evans and Violet Stewart; brothers; Jerry Brooks and wife Jackie, Daniel Brooks and wife Jo; sister-in-law Betty Brooks; ten grandchildren, Brad, Patrick, Whitney, Jake, Josh, Lexi, Mason, Raelyn, Jordyn and Samuel and 5- great-grandchildren.
