Brogley, John L. "Jack"
MCFARLAND - Jack Brogley, age 79, died peacefully in his sleep, on Monday, April 12, 2004, at his home, at Marianne's Elderhouse, in McFarland. He was born on July 8, 1924, in Madison, to Maynard and Nettie Brogley. Jack was born with Down's syndrome and outlived his life expectancy by many years. He lived with his loving parents until 1983 when his father died. Jack lived with his devoted mother until she died in 1987. He then moved to Marianne's Elderhouse, where he continued to enjoy a wonderful life, surrounded by loving and caring staff members and friends. Jack is survived by his sister, Beverly Klongland of Waunakee; two special nephews, Richard (Jeanne) of Sun Prairie, and Randall (Cindy) of Champaign, Ill., and their children, Chris (Sarah) Klongland, and their daughter, Jordyn, Rachel (Klongland) Turek, Reid Klongland, Kelly Klongland, Ryan Klongland of Wisconsin Dells, and Sarah Klongland of Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2004, with the Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Marianne's Elderhouse for the wonderful care Jack received, with a very special thank you to Mary and Nancy. We also wish to thank the Sun Prairie Colonial Club staff and friends, who were so kind and caring with Jack. Jack was a unique individual who touched the hearts of all who knew him.
