Albert Mathias “Al” Cashour of Catonsville, Maryland, died on February 5, 2020 at the age of 80.

Al is survived by his wife, Joan (Gary) Cashour; his three daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Jay McNeave, Janet and David Sentz, and Lori and Joseph Deems; his grandchildren, Kaci McNeave, Jimmy Sentz, and Danny Sentz; his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Marlis Cashour.

Al was born in Baltimore on August 27, 1939 to Albert Cashour and Catherine (Stricker) Cashour. He attended St. Joseph Monastery and was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School. He was a long-time employee of the United States Post Office and after retirement he worked at T-Rowe Price in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Al was passionate about coaching and was involved in his community. He coached basketball for 50 years. He also coached football, baseball, and softball. He was a devoted coach at St. Mark in Catonsville. He also coached at Mt. St. Joseph, Mt. de Sales and Seton High School. He always encouraged his players to work hard, to pursue their dreams, and to persevere through anything. He served as President of the St. Mark Men’s Club, St. Mark Athletic Association, and Catonsville Rec Council.

Al was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 59 years. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and attended as many games as possible. He loved Notre Dame football and enjoyed attending a game whenever he could. He was a wonderful husband, an amazing father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
