Mr. Harvey Raymond Heath Sr. age 95, of Mt. Airy, went home to be with Jesus from his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday Morning, February 6, 2020. Mr. Heath was born in Surry County on May 20, 1924 to the late John Henry and Ella Williams Heath. Mr. Heath was a WWII Prisoner of War while proudly serving our country in the United States Army, and was also retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Harvey enjoyed traveling the Parkway with his wife and taking many trips to Cherokee. He was also an avid trout fisherman and loved having family over for get togethers while sitting in his favorite rocking chair on the front porch. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years, Barbara Sisk Heath; son and daughter-in-law, Frankie Lee and Lisa Heath; daughter, Annette Mabe; grandchildren, Katie Tate and fiancé John Holt, Jordan Tate, Brian Pressnell and wife Laura, Carie Beck, John Henry Heath, Kayla Eastman, Alea Eastman, Jessica Gregory, Robert Stevens as well as eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Heath was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Raymond Heath Jr. a daughter, Nancy Pressnell; grandchild, Austin Heath as well as seven brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Brian Frazier, Rev. Dud Spencer and Dr. Johnathan Casstevens. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post #9436 of Mt. Airy and Post #2019 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 -800 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to extend a heart felt thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care especially Alice Hawks, Danette Hawks and Jonathan Casstevens and Michael for all the love and care given to Mr. Heath during his illness. As well the family would like to thank the Elks Lodge for all they have done for Mr. Heath over the years.
