Bessie was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter. Her husband, Shelby, died two days later on September 11 and she was preceded in death by four siblings.
Visitation Friday 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak. Private services will be held Saturday. Memorials suggested to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 22323 S. Chrysler Dr., Hazel Park, MI 48030.
