Elizabeth "Betsy" Buehler Alford 93 of Charlottesville passed away Friday September 9, 2016 at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge [Charlottesville, VA].

Born June 30, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. Buehler Jr. and Elizabeth Wiener Buehler.

She was also preceded in death by a brother William E. Buehler III.

Affectionately known as "The Walker," Betsy enjoyed being with her family, watching tennis and walking 3 miles a day.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan M. Williams and husband, Ken of Palmyra, Va.; a son, David M. McCord and wife, Faye of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Eugenia and husband, Paul Bruce Ferguson of Lansdale, Pa., three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 in The Chapel at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Hill & Wood Funeral Home. Interment at Monticello Memory Gardens will be private….
