Mrs. Carla Elaine Anderson, 66, of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, after a brief battle with cancer.

Carla entered this life on July 4, 1953, in Granby, Missouri, daughter of the late Cad and Aleen (Farmer) Newton. Her formative years were spent in Granby and Joplin, graduating from Parkwood High School in 1971. Following high school she began her career in banking, working a number of years at various banks in the area. Her last ten years of employment were with Burlington Motor Carriers as a payroll clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, watching Jimmy Fallon, collecting Americana, music and attending concerts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Birdy St. Clair, Donna Gaston and Frankie Robbins and two nieces Gloria Coburn Jones and Jada Robbins Scheppert.

Carla is survived by a daughter of Webb City; four grandchildren, a brother, Brad Newton of Joplin; her ex-husband and very close friend, Bill Anderson of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and friends.
