Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Charles Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklinville.
Doris was born on February 21, 1937, in Randolph Co., to the late Arris Worth Allred and Lillie Britt Allred.
She loved to read Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Harlequinn romance novels. She loved to do puzzles and liked to sew. Doris loved to watch her humming birds, cooking shows and enjoyed going to Jed's BBQ on Mondays to eat fish. She loved dinner with her family every Thursday night. She loved to help people, and had a special place in her heart for her grand pups, Khloe and Fiona, a.k.a Peony, and would wear her special dog pants when they visited. She loved her future son-in-law's lasagna, making her grandchildren hot chocolate, and her favorite color is blue.
Surviving are her daughter, Tammy C. McComb; sister, Joyce Mainor of Thomasville; brother, Simon Allred of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Jessica Blake, Holly Brown, and Kameisha Matthews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
