Cora Blackwell Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Cora Blackwell, of RD1, Shawnee Flats, Plymouth Township, died last night at 9:30 in Wyoming Valley Hospital, following three years’ illness. She was born in Wilkes-Barre and was the daughter of the late Erin and Arvesta Kropp Brogan. A resident of Plymouth Township the past 37 years, Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth.

Survivors are her husband, Henry, and 10 children; Delbert, Plymouth Township; Charles and Elmer, both of West Nanticoke; Henry, Jr., Cape Cod, Mass.; Mrs. William Neely, Plymouth; Mrs. Walter Ilkewicz, Plymouth Township; Mrs. George Wolfe and Mrs. Robert Wolfe, both of Hunlock Creek; Mrs. Frank Montoro, Wilkes-Barre; and Mrs. Thomas Buchner, at home 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Price, Havre-de-Grace, Md.; Mrs. Mary Bolger, Philadelphia; and Mrs. Frank Pazzapero, Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Clifford and John Brogan, Both of Havre-de-Grace, Md.

Funeral will be held from the Badman Funeral Home, 247 East Main Street, Plymouth, Saturday afternoon at 2. Rev. Dr. Richard L. Purnell will officiate and interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call tonight, 7 to 10, and Friday, 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
