Faye was born to Robert Franklin and Matidla Carolina Hampton Laird. Her siblings were, Vernon Franklin Laird, Violet Mae Laird Lyle, Ernest Linton Laird, and Arvil Leonard Laird.

She married William E. Sorensen, Jr. on February 20, 1944.

Faye was of the mother of Lyle Donald Sorensen and Robert Eugene Sorensen; and grandmother of Clinton Andrew Sorensen, Donni Ruth Sorensen and Robert William Sorensen

Her great-grandchildren are of Tristin Laine, Corlie Paige and Will Hardy; Michael Dylan, Robert Carsyn, Bradyen Ryan Sorensen.

Faye was a very talented! She was very good with a crochet needle and tatting shuttle. She was an awarding winning oil painting artist. But her true love in art was china painting and making porclein dolls.

Faye was a Christian; and a member of the Methodist church.
