TUCKEY, Rev. Dr. John E. - Of Davison, age 97, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Monday, July 30, 2007 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd., Davison, Pastor Allen Sudmann and Rev. Jack French co-officiating. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery at 3 PM, with Pastor Tom Knight officiating. Visitation will be at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison on Saturday from 6-9 PM and on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. On Monday, visitation will be at the church, beginning at 9 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel College, 1001 West McKinley Ave., Mishawaka, IN, 46545, where Rev. Tuckey was on the Founding Board. Rev. Tuckey was born in Cass City, MI on January 12, 1910, son of the late James and Eunice (Wright) Tuckey. He married Bernice Moore on November 11, 1933 in Cass City, who preceded him in death on June 1, 2005. John was the Pastor of Colfax, Yale, Port Huron and Flint Faith Missionary Churches. He was the Home Mission Superintendent for 4 years, during which time he founded the Davison Missionary Church. Rev. Tuckey was also the District Superintendent for 16 years, retiring in 1975, though he continued to pastor in several interim positions. He had a special place in his heart for the Brown City Missionary Church Camp, where he enjoyed ministering both physically and spiritually. Rev. Tuckey is survived by children, Eva (Dennis) Pannabecker, Phyllis (Ron) Phipps and David (Danise) Tuckey; grandchildren, Denise (Brian) Habegger, Daryl (Jenny) Pannabecker, Dr. Stephen (Amy) Phipps, Lisa (Tim) Weaver, Theresa (Craig) Setters, John II (Mindy) Tuckey, Michelle (Rob) Beigle; 4 step grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Glen, Clair, Luke and Harold, and sisters, Gladys and Florence.
