When he was 5 years old, his family moved to Goodman, Wisconsin. There he attended the Catholic school until the eighth grade, and he graduated from Goodman High School.
On August 12, 1961, Larry married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Helen, in Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin.
Larry worked at Goodman Lumber Company for 4 years. He started working at the Kimberly Clark Paper Mill in Niagara in 1965 and retired in 2003 after 39 years of service.
After his retirement from the paper mill, Larry continued working by driving school bus for 10-years. He had made Niagara his home since 1965.
Larry was an avid sports fan and enjoyed both playing and watching. For years, he played men's softball and basketball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his favorite sport to play was golf. When his sons were young, he coached their Little League and Babe Ruth teams. Larry spent his retirement watching his grandchildren play their many sporting activities. Larry was well known on Niagara's football field, where he was a member of the chain gang for 46 years. Larry was active in his community. In his younger years, he was active in the volunteer fire department. Larry served as a city council member for over 20+ years.
Larry is survived by his wife Helen (Pasternak);
his sister Janice Hawley of Green Bay, WI;
a brother-in-law Teddy (LouAnn) Pasternak of Phelps, Wisconsin;
and his four children: sons: Larry "Joe" (Susanna) Kuchinski and Jerry (Lynn) Kuchinski,
daughters: Donna (Billy) Moreau and Karen (David) Rock;
his 11 grandchildren: Hannah Benson (Jason), Danielle Bullinger (Charlie), Shelby DeForge (Bryan), Stephanie Rock, Molly Kuchinski, Rebecca Rock (Brandon), Patrick Moreau, Samuel Kuchinski, Shannon Moreau, Michael Rock, and Josie Rock;
his 6 great-grandchildren: Waylon, Clayton, Ellery, Cecelia, Jameson, and Joei.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Laurence Kuchinski; infant daughter, Laura; mother Gertrude Kuchinski; brother Renald Kuchinski; brother-in-law, Russel Hawley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 29th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 30th from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Niagara. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 at the church. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate.
