Son of Dr. Alphonso & Rachel Jeanette Carter Hodge.

Husband of Lucy Ellen Scarborough.

Father of Etta Genneta, Frances Lillie Mae Hodge (my grandmother), Zora Belle, George Lemuel, Dora Anna and Thomas Newton Hodge.

(Pictured are L-R Standing: Frances Lillie Mae (my grandmother, Aunt Etta Genneta, J. C. Hodge, and Aunt Zora Belle. Seated are Dora Anna (Aunt Annie) and Uncle Thomas Newton Hodge. George Lemuel had died before this picture was taken.)

NOTE: Many researchers refer to this person as Joseph Crittenden Hodge. However, my grandmother, Frances Lillie Mae Hodge Thomas always refered to her father as John Crittington Hodge. It appears that he signed many documents as J. C. Hodge which is how his tombstone reads.

(JC Hodge was my great-grandfather)
