Ronald G. Shoup, 74, died, surrounded by loved ones on November 16th after complications from a severe heart attack. There will be a graveside service for immediate family at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Avon. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Ron’s life on Saturday, November 23rd at Miller Nature Preserve in the Orchid Room located at 2739 Center Road in Avon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ron will be remembered most by his quick witted sense of humor and his passionate hobby of working on classic cars. Ron was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate from West Tech High School. Ron was a pipe fitter for 31years before retiring from Ford Motor Company in 2007. Ron enjoyed the martial arts and time spent with family and friends. The role of which Ron was most proud was being a devoted father and grandfather. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Nichol. He is survived by his brother, Ralph (Nina) Shoup. He is also survived by his daughters, Amy (Jack) Faup and Tamara (William) Fishleigh; ex-wife, Cathi Sevits; two step-children, Laurie (Jeff) Streszoff and Ed (Becky) Perry and his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Heart Association or the University Hospital of Cleveland/Cardiac Care Unit.
