Glen Joseph Gunden, 96, passed peacefully from this life Thursday afternoon, Jan. 12, 2017, in Goshen, Indiana. He was born July 12, 1920, in Bay Port, Michigan, to John and Rachel (Albrecht) Gunden. On June 27, 1948, he married Pauline Grieser in Stryker, Ohio. He was in the construction business his entire career and served as a field superintendent, overseeing a variety of public buildings in various states. He was always willing to use his expertise to assist his family, friends, and church with building projects. His daily life exemplified his Christian faith and at the time of his passing, he was a member of the College Mennonite Church, Goshen, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; along with four sons, Doug (June), Peachtree City, Georgia; Randal (Debby), Fort Myers, Florida; Burdette (Charlotte), Chelsea, Michigan; and Anthony (Jane), Grand Rapids, Michigan; six grandchildren, Troy (Laura), Matthew (Laura); Benjamin (Christie); Elizabeth (Kurt Neufeld); Jacob; and Joseph; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Benjamin, and Micah. Surviving siblings are Olin Gunden, John Dale Gunden, and Lala King. He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Gunden and two sisters, Iva Swartzendruber and Clara Stalter. A very involved and loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by his family.
