William David Comeau, 83, quietly passed away at Kindred Homes, Yuma, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.

He was born in Woburn, Mass., on Oct. 4, 1926, to Joseph and Elizabeth Comeau. He married Janet Marie Greve on Nov. 9, 1960, in Imperial Beach, Calif.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart. After 22 years in the service, he moved to Low Moor and went to work at Chemplex until retiring. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, astronomy and gardening.

He is survived by his children, Joe of Yuma; Patrick of Frederick, Md., and Judy Schroeder of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister; and four sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, his parents and five brothers.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.
