Jose Luis Salazar, 45, of Abilene, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street with Pastor David Gomez officiating. Burial will follow in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until service time.
Mr. Salazar was born January 11, 1962, in Hamlin, Texas to Augustine Salazar and Maria Petra Salazar.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Lynn Salazar; their son, Santino Salazar; their daughter, Sarah Salazar; his daughters, Maria Petra Rodriquez, Rosemary Rodriquez, Maria Esmeralda Loya, and Mary Jo Salazar; and his son, Jose Luis Salazar, Jr.; eight sisters, Tillie Martinez, Maria Hernandez, Celia Sotelo, Olivia Marrero, Janie Ochoa, Guadalupe Salazar, Matilde Fuentez, and Francis Moormal; and four brothers, Ausustine Salazar, Jr., Pedro Salazar, Juan Salazar, and Miguel Salazar.
Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Manuel Salazar.
Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Salazar, Jr., Santino Salazar, Gilbert Rodriquez, Ryan Rodriquez, C.J. Loya, and Tony Gutierrez.
