Grandma came through Ellis Island, and worked as a Governess in Manhattan, NYC , where she met my Grandfather a few years later in Manhattan, They moved to Emporium, Western Pa.
Emporium Area was mostly German and still is today. It must have felt like home to them. Lots of Jobs Opening in the Lumber Field.

I asked Grandma, why, my Mom didn't speak German too, and she said, In America, We Speak English. Your Mother does understand me, when I call her. With a Very Big Smile.

Grandma was a very Strong and Compassionate Woman, with a Very Big Heart. She loved her Garden, Children, Grandchildren and the Catholic Church.

She was well known for her Great Donuts,
by all in Town. I just recently read her
Book of Rememberance from the Funeral
Home. It was almost filled ..Grandma was
Loved by all.

Thank you Grandma
