Canton - Harley M. Lawrence, 76, Slick St. road farmer, died at his home Saturday (Oct. 22, 1955) at 8:45 p.m. after an illness of four years.
He was born June 12, 1879 at Lisbon, a son of the late Almon and Helen McBath Lawrence. He worked at Troy for 30 years, and moved to his farm on Slick St. between Canton and Morley in 1932.
His first wife, the late Minnie Myers, died in 1918. His second wife who he married at Albany in 1919, survives him.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Canton, Silas Wright Grange, St. Lawrence County Farm Bureau, and the St. Lawrence County Holstein Club.
In additional to his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Gerhardt, Holland, Mich.; Mrs. Lumer (Eleanor) Bolluc of Elsmere; Mrs. John (Bertha) Francher of Baldwinsville; two sons, Walter of Canton, and Lowell of Detroit; four brothers, Thomas of Raymondville; Edward of Lisbon; the Rev. Stanley Lawrence of Westfield, Pa.; and Harry of Lisbon; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hale of Lisbon, and Miss Edna Lawrence, Lisbon; and 19 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Gardner Funeral Home in Canton with the Rev. Jack Wells, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the White Church Cemetery at Lisbon.
