Jessie Gammon Dies At Age 62
Jessie James Gammon of the Holland Rd. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mae Cassell of the Vandola Rd. this morning after a decline in health for the past two years. Aged 62 years, Mr. Gammon was born in Pitlsylvania County, May 1, 1900, a son of the late George Gammon and Mollie Shumate Gammon. Deceased farmed most of his life, until he retired two years ago because of his health. He was a member of the Vandola Baptist Church. He was first married to Irene Mize, who died in 1948. Later he married Cora Pruitt. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Swicegood Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in the Moss family cemetery. The remains will rest at the funeral home and the family will be at tfie "Tionfie of his daughter, Mrs. Cassell of the Vandola Rd.
