Sister of my grandfather, James Emmit Deel.

Katy "Jewell" Deel was born on Wednesday, May 29, 1901 in Fisher County, Texas to George Washington Deel and Florence Emaline "Galley" Brookshire.

She had thirteen siblings: Alexander Lafayette Deel, Walter Robert Deel, James Emmit Deel, Charlie Ivan Deel, George "Henry" Deel, Birtie Guy Deel, Alley Lee Deel, Flora Lurena Deel Blount, Essie Adron Deel Ivison, Florence Virginia Deel, Noel "Pete" Deel, Willie Graves Deel and Orris V. Deel, Sr.

Her paternal grandparents were Peter Abraham Deel, III and Isabella Serena Duff. Her maternal grandparents were Graves Goodrich Brookshire and Sarah Frances Bacon.

She married Wilborn Waldo "Tom" Miller on October 25, 1916. They were blessed with nine children: Ollie Miller, Dixie Miller Montgomery, Covis Ray Miller, Willie Miller, T.J. Miller, Nadine Miller Rogers, Robby Miller, Betty Miller Williams, and Garland Miller.

She died on Friday, March 9, 1984 in Fisher County, Texas. She was 82 years old.
