MISS BERTHA RANKIN

BELMONT - Miss Bertha Mae Rankin, Gastonia R-2, McAdenville-Springwood section, died Monday at 8:30 p.m. in an out-of-town hospital at the age of 50 In failing health a number of years, she was critically ill several hours.

A daughter of the late Julius and Ida Bell Rankin, she was member of First Baptist Church, McAdenville.

She is survived by two brothers, Roy and Paul Rankin of Gastonia R-2; and one sister Miss Deda Rankin of the home.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday of 3:30 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Carother's Funeral Home, Belmont. Officiating will be the Rev. Harold Brown her pastor; the Rev. E. J. Rumfelt, Lakeview Baptist Church; and the Rev. G. H. Caldwell, Berea Baptist. Burial follows in Hickory Grove Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alfred, Eugene, Johnny, Bobby, Fred and Odell Rankin.

The body, to lie in state at the church one hour prior to services, will remain at the funeral hoe, where the family will receive friends tonight 7 to 9 o'clock.
