LUBBOCK-Joan Harriet Parks, 81, of Shallowater, formally of San Antonio, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017. She was born on Aug. 3, 1935, to the late Charles J. and Vivian (Tyson) Pilgrim. Joan grew up in Dallas, where she graduated from North Dallas High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for US Brick most of her career. Joan married John Homer Parks on Nov. 14, 1959. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Shallowater, where she enjoyed being a part of a quilting group.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John; and son, Michael Ayers.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Randolph and husband, Mike of Shallowater; brother, Charles A. Pilgrim and wife, Carolyn, of Cottonwood Falls, KS; grandchildren, Brandi Randolph of Denver, CO, and Mitchell Randolph of Lubbock.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Parkridge Pregnancy Medical Clinic, 5203 79th St. Suite B, Lubbock, TX 79424.
