James Roy Robert, of Waco, passed into the next life to be with his Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, July 25, 2007, after a long illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Bill Austin officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room.
James Roy was born in Bosqueville, Texas, to William Benjamin and Clintie B. Robert. He attended Bosqueville School and worked for Nabisco for 42 years. He was a World War II veteran. He and Cleo Lasseter were married April 5, 1946, and they shared 43 years together. In 1995 he married Billie Ruth Tandy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; six brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Ruth Robert; son, James Roy Robert, Jr. and wife, Denise; daughters, Patricia Roberts, Connie Obr and husband, John, Debbie Bonner and husband, Tom; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
