James Roy was born in Bosqueville, Texas, to William Benjamin and Clintie B. Robert. He attended Bosqueville School and worked for Nabisco for 42 years. He was a World War II veteran. He and Cleo Lasseter were married April 5, 1946, and they shared 43 years together. In 1995 he married Billie Ruth Tandy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; six brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Ruth Robert; son, James Roy Robert, Jr. and wife, Denise; daughters, Patricia Roberts, Connie Obr and husband, John, Debbie Bonner and husband, Tom; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
