Born in Darke County, Ohio, he was the son of Harry and Carrie (Swank) Ashman. He was married on June 13, 1931 to Mary B. Smith, who survives. A retiree from Sheller-Globe, he was a member of the Wabash Valley Golf Coarse in Geneva.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, David Ashman, Fort Wayne, and Dale and Carl Ashman, both of Portland, and Mrs. Roger (Lois) Osborne, Portland, and Mrs. Tom (Wanda) Violett, Alexandria, Va., a half brother, Harold Ashman, St. Marys, Ohio; a half sister , Madella Teeter, Celina, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1O a.m. Tuesday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. William Nelaon officiatng. Burial will be in the Macedon Cemetery, Coldwater, Ohio.
