Carl Ashman, 82, of 6687 Burch Road, Versailles, died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Marvh 2 in his home. He had been seriously ill since September.
Mr. Ashman was born April 14, 1906 in Gettysburg, to the late Harry and Carrie Swank Ashman.Had lived at the current address since 1955.
On March 9, 1935, he married the former Anna Mae Wagarman, who died Jan. 27, 1988.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne A. (Mariam) Wendel and a granddaughter, Tami A. Mowery, both of Versailles.
Mr. Ashman was a member of the Christian Church of Dawn, a former president of the Darke County Home and Poetry Club and had been a farmer all of his adult life.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bailey-Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, The Rev. Dr. Jerry Zell officiated. Burial was in Beamsville Cemetery.
