Charles A. Bevering, 79, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the chapel of Hampton Vaughn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 until 8 in the evening on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
Charles was born April 30, 1933 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a 1950 graduate of Petrolia High School and attended Midwestern State University. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. Charles was a long time Clay County farmer and rancher and served on the 9 Man Board of the Clay County Pioneer Association. He also served on the Boards of Directors of the Byers Bank, First National Bank of Henrietta and the Hubbard Bank.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lillie Bevering of Charlie, Texas
He leaves behind his wife, Joanne of Wichita Falls; stepchildren, Christine Andrews and Richard Andrews of Wichita Falls; sister, Louise Smith of Pampa, Texas; brother, Joe Bevering and wife, Billie, of Charlie, Texas and three nieces.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to his many friends and especially Pam Coats, his caregiver, for their support and love during Charles' long illness.
