Devoted father of Robert Arnot M.D. of New York City, Bonnie Wright of Cape Elizabeth ME, Douglas Arnot of Salt Lake City UT, Jeanne Noonan of Sudbury, Paul Arnot of Waterbury VT, Nancy Taussig of Larchmont NY. Also survived by 18 grandchildren.

Graduate Univ. of Minnesota, Class of 1937, BA, Phi Beta Kappa, Harvard Medical School, Class of 1940 M.D. Intern, Resident & Research Fellow 1941-1951. Completed research phase of his career as Asst. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale Medical School. He was a pioneer in the field Psychopharmacology and E.C.T. In 1951 he entered into private practice in Boston. Over the next 45 years he treated more than 8,000 patients before his retirement in 1996.
