EARL J. PATRICK

Earl J. Patrick, 50, died at 1 a.m. today at his home, 4231 Oak St., New Boston, of complications following surgery Feb. 1 in University Hospital, Columbus.

He was an employee of the Detroit Steel Corp. Portsmouth Division, working in the blast furnace department.

A native of Elliott County, Ky., he was born Nov. 1, 1901, a son of Clarence and Cora Adkins Patrick.

He married Hannah Elliott in 1922.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America, Local 2116.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his father, four sons, Virgil, Earl Jr., and Ballard of Wilmington and Cpl. Jackson C. Patrick of Fort Eustis, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Frances Parlin, 4236 Oak St. and Linda Lou at home; three brothers, Edgar and Thomas of Dayton and Ernest, 4231 Oak St. and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Williams 529 Glenwood Av.

Mr. Patrick was preceded by his mother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene in New Boston with Revs. J.E. Hanson and Hollie Conley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Emrick Funeral Home. Friends may view the body at the residence until 1 p.m. Thursday, at which time it will be taken to the church.
