Thomas Alexander rites Wednesday

Thomas L. Alexander, 68, Franklin route 5, died Sunday morning at his residence. He had been a lifelong resident of Franklin.

Born April 11, 1910, in Johnson County, he was the son of George and Minnie (Sherman) Alexander.

He was married to Hazel Wyrick [Wirey] on May 11, 1946 in Franklin. Mrs. Alexander survives.

Mr. Alexander was employed with Indiana Gas and Water Company and had been retired from that company for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Shiloh Church, Edinburgh American Legion, Franklin Odd Fellows Lodge and had served as a member of the Army Medical Corps in World War II.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Rev. Charles Paxton will officiate.

Calling hours will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Vandivier - Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin by the Rev. Charles Paxton. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery there. Calling hours at the funeral home will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Alexander was born April 11, 1910, in Johnson County, son of George and Minnie Sherman Alexander. He was a lifelong resident of the Franklin area; was a member of the Shiloh Church, the Edinburgh American Legion, the Franklin Odd Fellows Lodge and had served in the Army Medical Corps during the second world war.

He married Hazel Wirey, formerly of Edinburgh, May 11, 1946, in Franklin, and she survives.
