Helen Ruth Farley, 95 of Abilene passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born October 16, 1924 in Abilene, the daughter of Leonard and Edna (Hilton) Daniels. Helen grew up in the Abilene area, graduating from Abilene High School in 1942. On September 5, 1945 she was united in marriage to Jack W. Farley in Abilene. He preceded her in death in 1974. Helen worked as a secretary for school district 435. After retiring she traveled the United States with her close friend, Cecil Eoff. She was a member of the Ladies Literary League, KPL Retirees, served as a Job's Daughter Guardian and was also an aquacise class leader. Helen is survived by three daughters: Margaret Kilgore of Abilene; Debbie Howie (Jim) of Abilene; Patricia Orender (Bill) of Wichita. One son, Doug Farley (Kristy) of Hutchinson. 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters. The family has chosen cremation. Celebration of life will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Abilene with Pastor Keith Less officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M, Saturday until service time at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Abilene Public Library, Trinity Lutheran Church or KSDS Assistance Dogs Inc. Memorials may be dropped off at the funeral home or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.
