Sharon enjoyed developing many talents from a young girl taking piano, violin, singing, trumpet, and French horn lessons. They enjoyed vacationing as a family during their growing up years.
Sharon graduated from Miami High School in 1960. After high school she worked for Kennecott Mining Company for two years saving money to attend college. She also worked as a singer for a local funeral home as a side job. She went to the University of Arizona. Graduating in 1966 with a degree in Elementary Education receiving a Summa Cum Laude recognition. After graduation she decided to fly with Pan Am Airline as an airline stewardess. She was able to see the world flying mostly international flights.
Sharon married Bill J. Capps on November 23, 1970. Sharon introduced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to her husband. They were sealed for time and all Eternity on November 6, 1971 in the Oakland Temple. Together they had 4 children Matt, Candace, Amy and Holly. Sharon also helped raise two sons and daughter Charmaine from Bill’s previous marriage. Charmaine joined their family at the age of 10 years old. She raised all her children with her many talents of singing, cooking and her loving sweet spirit. Bill and Sharon resided in California and moved to Utah. She blessed many people with her talents and service she gave in the church; serving as Primary president, chorister, gospel doctrine teacher, choir director, pianist and organist. In March of 1998 her husband Bill passed from Colon Cancer. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren that call her Grammy. During her later life she experienced much hardship with her health problems. Her family will miss her sweet spirit but, are grateful that she is at peace and in the arms of our loving Heavenly Father and Savior.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, Utah 84065. Viewing 10:00am-10:45am Funeral Service 11:00am-12:00pm following will be the dedication of the grave at Riverton Cemetery.
