Edgar P. King, 73, Indianapolis, died Jan. 4. He was a research administrator 34 years for Eli Lilly and Co., retiring in 1987. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was past president and secretary of the National Airmail Society and a member of the International Airmail Society. He earned his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Jan. 9 in the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery. Calling: 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 8 in Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary.

Survivors: wife, Lucinda Kryter King; daughters, Dr. Deborah Ann King, Madeleine "Missy" King; son, Daniel Todd King; two grandchildren.
