He served in the Air Corps in World War I.
Mr. Adkins was born in Stephens County and had lived here about 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a Mason.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Cassandra Brannon of Cummings; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Riggall, Atlanta, and brothers, William Adkins, Atlanta, and O. H. Adkins, Savannah.
