PETRONIUS, BERNICE A. Beloved mother and friend - a dynamic, creative individual and community activist - passed away peacefully December 21, 2007, at San Diego Healthcare Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born August 2, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA, Bernice was a long-time resident of Pacific Beach and a member of St. Brigid Catholic church for 50 years. She was actively involved in the Pacific Beach Town Council and a member of the "Pacificaires" for over 22 years, she sang at many local schools, hospitals, and community centers. Bernice enjoyed crafts, including sewing, ceramics, knitting, and drawing. She loved her daughters, pets, and any opportunities to sing and play the piano for friends. She is survived by her daughters, Anita Hajos of Brawley, CA and Pacific Beach; Pamela Schafer Chapman and son-in-law, John Chapman of Tierrasanta. The family extends special thanks to the lovely caretakers at San Diego Healthcare Center - your love and professionalism was beyond the call of duty. Memorial Services will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 4735 Cass St. in Pacific Beach on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. A Reception will follow in the St. Brigid social hall.
