CLARKSBURG — Delsie H. Hayhurst Rhoden, 101, of West Milford, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at River Oaks, with family by her side.
She was born September 22, 1918, in McWhorter, WV, {daughter} son of Benjamin E. and Maggie M. Campbell Hayhurst.
Delsie graduated from Lost Creek High School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Delsie is survived by one son, James C. "Buzzy" Rhoden and Pam; three grandchildren, James "Eric" McFadden and fiancée, Kim Allman, Aaron Brian McFadden and Christie and Bridgette Wilson and husband, John; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Wilson and Ethan Wilson, Chase E. McFadden and Tara, Chance W. McFadden and Landon J. McFadden and one great-great-grandson, Asher.
In addition to her parents, Delsie was preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Lefty" Rhoden, on August 29, 1999; one daughter, Judith Ann McFadden on September 28, 2019; one grandson, Alex "A.J." Jerrold McFadden on March 29, 2012; three brothers, Roy Hayhurst, Ray Hayhurst and Robert in infancy and three sisters, Lillian Gainer, Margaret Flowers and Mary Hayhurst.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from noon-6 p.m. and on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from noon until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m., with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating. Interment will be Monday at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
