Mary Beth was born December 17, 1937 in Marlin, Texas to Robert Lee and Ruby Lee (Nettles) Vance. The family moved to Lexington where she was the 1955 class Valedictorian of Lexington High School. She received her Masters Degree in Mathematics from Texas State Teachers College. On May 31, 1969, she and Carl Gibson, Jr. were married in Dickinson. She began teaching math at Dickinson Clear Creek High School and finished her career in the Lexington Schools. Mary Beth was a very active member of Lexington United Methodist Church and also in the Lee County Republican Party. She passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 in St. David North Austin Medical Center in Austin.
