Donald E. Dansie, 77, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007, of apparent heart attack. He was born November 16, 1929, in Soldier Summit, Utah, to Clarence and Grace Jones Dansie. He grew up in Spring Glen and Spanish Fork Canyon, Utah, with five brothers and three sisters. He married Laurel Jean Lowe in March 1950 and they have resided in Springville, Utah. Laurel is daughter of Jesse and Earl Lowe of Springville. Donald tried out coal mining, railroad work, and several other vocations, but found his true calling as a truck driver. He traveled over most of the roads west of the Mississippi and could tell fascinating and entertaining stories of being on the road. His hobbies included fixing anything with an engine. For the last several years, he most enjoyed his time RV'ing and 4-wheeling with family and friends. He liked wearing Levi's and snap-front shirts, had a great singing voice (if you could convince him), and was a man of firm opinions on most subjects. Donald is survived by his wife, Laurel, and nine children: Linda Schiller (David), of Spanish Fork; Marvin (Coral) Dansie, of Federal Way, WA; Monte (Nick) (Julie) Dansie, of Price; Rex (Pam) Dansie, of Springville; Sheila (Jeff) Park, of Riverton; Donna Dansie, of Aloha, OR; Paula Dansie, of Federal Way, WA; John Dansie, of Sandy; and Jesse (Marsha) Dansie, of Payson; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as siblings Eva Mae (Everett) Hansen, Clint (Ann) Dansie, Grace (keith) Hansen, Berta Lou (Edward) Holt, Randle J (Phyllis) Dansie, and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dansie, Marjorie Dansie and Jean Dansie. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Robert (Bob), LaMonte and John (Jack) Dansie. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church at 355 East Center, Springville, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville; or at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will take place in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
