Jodie was born October 22, 1943, in Tahlequah, OK and passed away Monday, January 6, 2020.
She graduated from Cave Springs High School in 1960. She held several jobs throughout her life, with the most important job was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In March 1980 she married Donald W. Benge in El Dorado, Ks. They made their home in Derby Ks, and many other locations until they retired in Wagoner OK.
Jodie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing Arts and Crafts, collecting Native American Art, and amateur photography.
Jodie is survived by her husband Donald W. Benge of the home, one son Charles Anthony “Tony” Young of Edgewood NM, two daughters Marcine Lahoma Heagwood and Husband Richard of Navarre FL, GaLela Ann Leckie and Husband Hubert of Enid OK, One step-son Christopher David Benge and wife Jolene of Peoria AZ. 10 grandchildren, Amanda Young, Ryan Young, Shana Heagwood, Richard “Tony” Heagwood, Donald “D.J.” Buszek, Joedy Buszek and wife Shania, Heather Buszek, Brock Benge, Micah Benge, and Zachary Benge. 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Also, surviving is one brother Roger Luce and wife Dana, and one sister Peggy Prigmore and husband Bob.
Jodie is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many close extended family and friends.
Jodie was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Irene Luce of Stilwell OK.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Pastor French McLemore officiating.
No Graveside services or dinner is planned.
