Viola Chavez, a resident of Chimayo, passed away after a short illness at her daughter's home in La Puebla on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Maria Rita (Martinez) and Antonio Francisco "Frank" Ortega; special aunt, Marcelina Trujillo; her son, Danny Chavez; her husband, Ernesto Manuel Chavez; her mother, Josefina Armijo; step-father, Flavio Armijo; brother, Flavio "Fluffy" Armijo Jr., and sister, Priscilla Rocha.
Viola is survived by her daughter, Valerie Martinez and Rick; her grandson, Alejandro Martinez; sister, Angie Valdez; brother-in-law, Benjamin Duran of El Llano; sisters-in-law, Flora Chavez of Lawndale, CA, Zulema Harvey of Santa Fe, and Rosina Pacheco of Colorado Springs; special nephew, Manuel Chavez of Lawndale, CA; special niece, Beatrice Pacheco-Riggins of Colorado Springs; God-daughters, Patricia Romero, Cassandra Quintana, and Michelle Romero; very special friends dear to her heart: Dan and Mickie Medina and Josie Martinez of Chimayo, Danny and Maxine Cordova of Chimayo, and numerous other relatives and friends.
