He was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to the late Sherd and Maude (Clanton) Givens.
Norman served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He had worked at ABC Rail for 12 years, Sprague Regulator for 12 years, and Weidner Chevrolet for four years. He enjoyed country music and being around people.
He is survived by his sons, Follis (Jackie) Cox of Ary, Kentucky, Glenn (Brenda) Cox of Yorktown, Wendell (fiance, Mary Jo) Cox of Anderson, Vicki McBroom; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and special friends, Norma and Mike Anderson.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Dean Givens; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
