Marilyn Jean Primrose

Marilyn J. Primrose, 83, of Joliet, formerly of Rochelle, passed away on February 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Angels in Joliet, IL. She was born on September 21,1935 in Nachusa, IL to the late Raymond Leroy and Aletta (Eich) Coffman.

She married George Primrose on September 17, 1954 and shared 61 years together until his passing on June 13, 2015. She was always known as a person with a heart of gold. She wouldn’t hesitate to help a family member, a neighbor or a stranger. Marilyn was a past Cub Scout leader. She worked several jobs, to name a few were A&W Drive In, Caron International, Del Monte and Macklin Bros. She was valedictorian of her Class of 1952 in Ashton, IL. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle and was very active in her church.

She is survived by her children; Leanne (Don) Primrose-Brown of Joliet, Tim (Deanna) Primrose of Byron and Tony (Tammy) Primrose of Rockwall, TX. 1 sister; Linda (Robert) Daub of Rochelle, 3 brothers; James (Phyllis) Coffman of Stillman Valley, Wayne (Nancy) Coffman of DeKalb and Donald (Pat) Coffman of Rockford. 7 grandchildren Emma, Sara and Spencer Brown, Kyle Primrose, Kelsey (Sam) Montana, Ryan and Ashley Primrose, Step grandchild Whitney (Andy) Stout and 1 step great grandchild Riley Stout and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, infant daughter Nancy Kay and step grandchild Ryan Miller.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, 14206 E. Flagg Rd., Rochelle, IL. with Rev. Joy Alsop officiating. Interment to follow at Trinity Memory Garden Cemetery in Rochelle.
