Betty Bass, 82, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, January 2, 2020.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at First Christian Church with Darrell Wait, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.

Betty was born December 9, 1937, in Campo, CO to Ira and Myrtle Gove. She married Sam Bass on February 18, 1956, in Clayton, NM. He preceded her in death July 23, 2011.

Betty was a lifetime member of First Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Bass; and sister, Maxine Baker.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Hammit and husband Gary, of Fritch, TX, and Jerry Bass and wife Margie, of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Bea Boggs, of Clayton, NM; a brother, Gerald Gove, of Clayton, NM; three grandchildren, Wheeler, Seth, and Justin; and five great-grandchildren, Brayson, Brancey, Braxtyn, Marcus, and Karson.

Viewing will be from noon-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020, in Amarillo at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., and from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2020, in Dumas at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 500 N. Maddox Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
