"Sister" Ruby Burley, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2003, at a local nursing home. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Burley, and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Brown Burley, of Stony Point, Va. She was the last survivor of the "Seven Burley Sisters". Mrs. Jones was born June 9, 1909. She received her education from the public school system of Albemarle County. She spent most of her adult life in Washington, D.C., and returned to Stony Point, Va., later in life. She was married to the late Mr. Charlie Brown, after his death, she later married the late Mr. Jesse Jones. She was a Baptist, and later became a member of the Father Divine Church for 10 to 12 years and did volunteer work for the Church.

She is survived by; nieces, nephews; great nieces, and great nephews; Mrs. Eva Burley Coachman, Mrs. Rose Conchita Abiera-Wood, Dr. Anita-Rae Smith-Pankey, Mrs. Cornelia Hairston Boone, Mrs. Lisa Roberts, Ms. Harriet Anna Pankey, Mrs. Anita Pankey Woolfork, Mr. Primitivo Abiera, Mr. Petrinilo Abiera, Mr. Antonio Abiera, Mr. Joseph Wood Jr., Mr. Titus Pankey III., Mr. Caesar-Titus Allen Pankey; and other nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.

A graveside service was held at the Family Burial Grounds in Stony Point, Va., located at the "Old Home Place of the Burley Family.”
