Charles Guy Phillips, 63, of Ingleside died Friday morning in a Princeton hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
A native of Boomer, N.C. he was a son of the late Carl and Victoria Coffee Phillips.
H was a member of the First Christian Church, Princeton Lodge 134, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and the Royal Arch Masons, Chapter 44.
A foreman for Pocahontas Fuel Co. at Amonate, Va., he was a former chief of police at War and Oakvale. He was formerly employed by H.M. Saunders Candy Co. and a merchant at Ingleside.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Juba Phillips; two daughters, Mrs. George Day of Hampton, Va., and Miss Mabel Phillips of Ingleside; a son, J.C. of Belleville, Mich.; two brothers Lewis of Princeton and Robert of Ironton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton with Rev. J.T. Moore in charge. Burial will be in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. Members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers and conduct graveside rites.
