Loving father, brother, ex-husband, and friend. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Over the years, John had a variety of health problem, eyes, heart, etc, but he always bounced back and was his old self, no matter what he was going thru. At the beginning of 2007, there was a fire in the apartment across the hall from him and he ended up with a lot of smoke damage in his lungs. He was in the hospital and care center for a very long time, one health problem led to another. He was released only to go back in a week or so for something else going wrong, but he was strong thru it all. Finally, he had enough and realized he wasn't going to be getting much better than he was at that point and things started going downhill from there. He had a permanent trach tube which he hated. He had the Doctors take him off a lot of the medicines because he wanted to have some dignity. Finally his liver shut down then the doctors found out that the artificial valve in his heart was going bad. The priest came in and gave him last rites.

Knowing he is gone is very hard, especially for his son, they were very close. We talked about what we remembered about John. His son said that he will always remember him for the strong person he was, and for his smile. Our marriage didn't last but we remained best friends all these years. It's hard to let a person go, especially when your close to them.

John had a sister that was tragically killed in 1999.

John will be cremated and his ashes buried in the same plot as his sister.
