Marolyn worked as a waitress at Alice's Restaurant in Marion and as a pharmacy technician at Walmart Pharmacy. She was a long-time member of Bethel Worship Center, member of the Neighborhood Watch Association, past Vice President of Stonecrest Manor, and member of Topps.
Marolyn enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. She also liked music, especially gospel. More than anything, Marolyn cherished her family, often cooking Sunday dinners so she could spend time with everyone.
Survivors include her four daughters, Patty Lawrence of Wabash, Fran (Garry) Whirl of Cape Coral, FL, Terrie Snapp of Marion, and Sherrie Sheetz of Marion; son, Billy Sheetz of IL; three grandsons, Chris (Leslie) Jackson, Joe Boyer, and Aaron (Stacy) Whirl; five granddaughters, Jeni (Dave) Taylor, Jami (Joe) Knight, Emily (Travis) Hood, Jessica (Andy) Vanderbur, and Natasha Sheetz; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Jack Walker; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling E. Sotdorus; previous husband, Roy R. Pendleton; four brothers, Dennis, Bill, Bobby, and Melvin; and four sisters, Pat, Freda, Dorothy, and Virginia.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Marolyn's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Oren Guenin officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
